Expats At Crimson

Expat Interview: Cem Keskin
What made you come to India?

India was more like an escapade for me. Exotic, invigorating, and extremely engaging. The diverse culture and people, including the diversity in their belief, is what attracted me to this country. I wanted to experiment with the variety of experience that this place offers. You know, I feel that unity is diversity is actually the best description for India. If I had to put it in one phrase, it would certainly be “a haven for finding similitude in the differences that are so exposed, yet so contained.” However, the prime reason for my choosing India was spiritual. It is a spiritual haven for people like me who are enticed by the knowledge and power that is part of the Indian culture. Just to be here is to embark on a spiritual journey of one’s own. India is also the land of yoga. I am myself a yoga practitioner, trained in Raja Yoga, and being in India enables me to pursue this facet of my life in great detail. As of now, India is my home. I truly believe that wherever one goes, one should make it her/his home. You know, otherwise, people will forever feel homesick!

How did Crimson happen?

Purely by chance. In fact, I can say that I owe it to serendipity. In Turkey, I was a professor and taught linguistics. That was interesting. But because I had been involved in that since 2000, I was beginning to feel the urge to embark on a new challenge. To look at life afresh. My brother received a job application from Crimson for the post that I am currently working on. He wasn’t even looking for a change. Fortunately, he was aware that I was looking for a change and also that India had always interested me. He just happened to mention it in passing. Well, I did not wait after that and jumped on the opportunity. So here I am today. Since I have been involved in academic research for so long, combing my experience with a new profile (marketing) was challenging and exciting for me.

What is your greatest attraction to work here at Crimson?

A simple thing actually, the multicultural environment that this place offers. It’s brilliant to see how people from all over the world come together to be part of a singular goal, guided by the multitalented CEO of Crimson. Another aspect is the youth that seems to permeate through the very walls of this place. People are energetic, ready to take up challenges, and very determined. I love to be part of such an atmosphere. I would also like to add that since I have been involved in academics for the most part of my career, the unique combination of marketing services to a global audience, especially the academic milieu, is extremely interesting. I like being a part of this uniqueness. I am very much a part of my first love, academics, and simultaneously experimenting with other job profiles.

What according to you do clients want from Crimson and what does crimson do best to exceed client expectations?

Crimson as a company is extremely client oriented. Of what I have seen so far, the prime objective of the company is to deliver excellent quality to all its clients. Probably, this is one of the major reasons why Crimson has progressed so quickly in such a short span of time. I mean, I do not think I have ever come across any group of people, and that too, young people, who are so driven towards working for a common goal. It is overwhelming to see how hard Crimsonites work to achieve success. And their hard work is very well appreciated. The most defining aspect that Crimson showcases is its creative approach in doing everything. They innovate constantly, be it process knowledge or in-house work methods. They are constantly brainstorming to come up with innovative ideas to create something that is unique and is extremely beneficial to the clients.

what do you consider as your major achievements at crimson?

During my tenure here at Crimson, I have learnt one thing. That no matter who you are or where you are from, if you have the talent and the willingness to work hard, then Crimson is certainly going to recognize it and appreciate it with great pomp and show. Well, I think that comes with being an Indian, the pomp and show bit. Truly delightful. I love this aspect of India. My major achievements at Crimson include my change of job profile from my previous and being able to acclimatize to a different culture so readily. I am still learning, and I hope to be a proud Crimsonite for long time.
