Job Description:

The role of the bilingual quality expert for Japanese to English and English to Japanese is as follows:

• Check, track, improve, and manage the quality of freelance (FL) Translators and checkers.
• Work in collaboration with Project Management (PM) and Client Servicing (CS) teams to understand and efficiently handle client consultations and requirements, as well as FL queries and concerns
• Work in collaboration with the Quality and Training team and client relationship management team (CRM) to arrive at next steps for freelance translators and checkers based on client concerns
• Work in collaboration with the Freelance Recruitment team to hire high-quality freelancers for different services and projects
• Work in collaboration with the English Editing teams.
• Work in collaboration with the Translation team to access and monitor translator quality and induction
• Work in collaboration with Final reviewers in Japan office to strategize next steps of overall improvement for freelance translators and checkers
• Work on several developmental activities and projects for internal and external clients
• Provide valuable inputs for freelance induction and utilization

Key Responsibility:

• Live assignment file checking and correction.
• Providing inputs and next steps in collaboration with team manager on live assignment quality issues if any.
• Gauging, monitoring, auditing, and improving freelancer quality
• Assessing information mismatch between us and the client
• Providing freelancer and inhouse allocation inputs
• Engaging in communication with freelancers
• Process optimization inputs
• Freelancer recruitment inputs     
• Translation consultations (document/translator quality, subject area validation, freelancer translator/checkers profiles, new clients/processes)
• New service consultations
• Special assignment management
• Trial assignment management

Work Experience and Skill Requirements :

• Preferred 1 to 3 years of experience in  Japanese<>English Translation
• Superior language communication skills  and the ability to explain language concepts to the translation team
• Ability to multitask and demonstrate urgency and drive
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to work in a deadline-driven environment are essential
• Proficiency in MS Office
